Visit D.I.A.D. Drop It And Drive’s YouTube Channel to find most videos we use in our presentations, including the powerful video, “How Many More” by McKenna Lowe. The Duck Dynasty ladies discuss their messy experiences with distracted driving that thankfully didn’t involve any injuries. Goes to show, though, that distracted driving is about way more than just cell phone use: Sunday Drivers Video Our YouTube channel has over 200 educational & entertaining videos related to distracted driving prevention. The videos include comical, but relevant Allstate Insurance “Mayhem” Commercials at just 30 seconds as well as the 10-minute tragic story of Reggie Shaw, a 19-year-old who killed two men (husbands, fathers & rocket scientists) when he chose to text while driving. Our hope is that by sharing these videos and stories, viewers will be able to learn from the experiences of others’ before having to go through it themselves. It’s sad when you realize that for some, it’s only by experiencing personal tragedy that they will find the inspiration to change choices made while driving. Share comments, post videos & support our efforts to save lives by raising awareness about the dangers of driving while distracted.

Wandering would have a cd or DVD that is not to long that I could purchase to show my children ( in there twenty) .. Something that might shock them a little cause they are the ones who think IT WON’T happen to them and it might show them what they could do to others.. But they probably won’t give me more then twenty minutes .. Is there such a cd or DVD??

Hi Ray, your kids are fortunate to have a father who cares as much as you clearly do. It’s hard to pick any one particular story as each person will react differently; we don’t currently have the funding to put out a DVD ourselves, but I recommend the intro trailer on our YouTube channel that features teens talking about why our program affects them. Also, these three would be most applicable to your twenty-something kids and each video is quite short:

UK Texting and Driving PSA – 4 minutes

Kassy Kerfoot ‘Faces of Distracted Driving’ – 2.5 minutes

Reggie Shaw ‘Zero Fatalities’– 10 minutes

Most importantly, tell your kids how much you love them; losing them in a preventable crash would devastate you and even helping through injuring or killing someone else is something you hope you never have to do.

Please pop back and share with me how it goes.

      /Karen
