I can’t believe I hav FINALLY found sum1 much “Like” me! I, 2, M an advocate 4 Road Safety who began, not ‘cuz I lost a loved 1, but ‘cuz I hav become a bit paranoid that I might… :( My “Drive” 2 STAY ALIVE has been centered on Turn Off Cell B/4 Driving! since 1/13/10:

On 1/13/10, I emailed my immediate family about not using cells while driving as 2 of 4 daughters don’t have land lines. No one responded! I made “Turn Off Cell B/4 Driving!” stickers & gave them as an early Valentine gift – their ONLY gift this year! NOW they got the message: youngest set me up on Facebook, oldest made Group Drive Safely: Don’t Use Your Cell Phone While Driving (NOT the same as Drive Safely which I also joined), & her husband put the stickers on a web site so anyone can print their own on Avery 5260 labels:

    http://myplace.frontier.com/~DriveSafely

Print 720 FREE “Turn Off Cell B/4 Driving!” stickers to put on cells & drivers’ visors, to wear & SHARE, & to “seal” snail mail.

Save 30 to print site direction stickers so others can print their OWN 720!

Turn Off Cell B/4 Driving is also now a Facebook Page to “Like” or “Fan”!

When Facebook made NEW Group Formatting, I added Group

    EDDN: END Distracted Driving Now

4 ADVOCATES of SAFE DRIVING 2 use Document Sharing & Group Chat 4 hav brainstorming “meetings” when more than 3 of us R available on Facebook!

Looking 4ward 2 working w/ U so 2gether we WILL make roads safer NOW!

Youtube partner Olga Kay insists on driving dangerously and she GETS PAID FOR IT BY YOUTUBE. She dances in her car whilst driving. More info and footage here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CUzNS5lFAw. This is a video I made to raise awareness of this behaviour. Sadly a lot of young impressionable people watch Olga’s videos and do not believe that she is doing anything wrong :(

Distracted Driving Prevention: Education & Advocacy

We deliver reality-based, interactive multi-speaker presentations throughout Canada about the dangers and consequences of distracted driving.

There are three forms of distraction: cognitive (mental); manual & visual, including texting, talking on hand-held devices, in-car passengers, adjusting music settings, eating, personal grooming, dressing/undressing, reading & allowing pets to travel on laps. All these activities contribute to taking eyes off the road and attention away from the demanding task of driving.

D.I.A.D.’s dynamic presentation is unlike anything else in Canada, delivering a powerful message with a combination of knowledge, personal experience, energy and humour.

D.I.A.D. Drop It And Drive works in partnership with the Surrey Fire Service; Young Drivers of Canada; the Surrey RCMP and with the support of Klein Lyons to deliver high energy, interactive talks.

Contact us to find out more information or to book a presentation at your school, college, university, community group, organization or corporation. Our elementary & high school presentations are 'NO FEE!' & fee-based sessions directly support those school presentations.
